A Desert Elopement in Arizona's Wild West

When two East Coasters decide to get married in Arizona’s “Wild West” you know it is going to be a good time!

It all started when Kaycee mentioned she wanted to get married “in the middle of the desert.” With that, I helped her and Anthony create a wedding experience centered around exactly what they had been dreaming up! Getting married in the desert was in fact their dream and after chatting with Kaycee I wanted nothing more than to help them create the most intentional wedding day and then capture it in the most genuine way.

I’m really not kidding when I say that I am so much more than just your wedding photographer. I tell my couples that I am their own personal elopement and wedding planning resource! I want nothing more than to help them plan an intentional and authentic wedding day. I am a big advocate for couples doing whatever feels most true to their story together on their wedding day and I encourage my couples to incorporate aspects that are unique and special to them throughout their day. Some of my couples already have a clear idea of what they want to be doing on their day, whereas others aren’t sure, they just know they want something different (and that’s what matters!). Being able to walk with my couples through the planning process of finding what speaks to their story together is such an inspiring aspect to what I get to do as their photographer.

I provided Kaycee with a few rad desert locations to check out during her visit to Arizona and her and Anthony decided on a completely breathtaking spot where saguaros dotted the desert endlessly. They wanted the landscape to be the focal point of their ceremony and the towering saguaros provided just that! So it was settled and the rest of their planning could commence! I helped them connect with other like-minded vendors who helped bring their desert dream to life! Paige at The Romantic Floral is always amazing and created a truly unique and inspired bridal bouquet. Kaycee found the perfect AirBnb with epic views of the surrounding desert complete with a resort style pool. They had their closest friends and family fly in from the East Coast to stay with them in their desert bungalow and the party started!

Kaycee got ready surrounded by her girls, while Anthony with his guys. The pre-first-look jitters were real but when Anthony first set his eyes on his bride the energy was profound and excitement quickly filled the air. Their ceremony was nothing short of a desert dream with their closest family, friends, and saguaros as their witnesses. We explored as the desert sun set over the horizon and lit the landscape with its infamous golden glow. Once the sun had long set and our bellies were full of the most delicious BBQ, Kaycee and Anthony ended their day with the sweetest dances on the back patio. They kicked off their shoes and swayed to the music. Last but not least, they sealed their day with a little cake in the face.

Their entire experience was laid back, unique, and totally THEM. Trust me when I say that planning your wedding around your story makes everything so much more special. There is no right or wrong way to get married these days. So do it with the people who make you happiest, in a place that sets your souls on fire, at the time that is right for you.
